Clear Width: Door openings must provide a clear width of 32 inches minimum and 48 inches maximum. The measurement is taken between the door face and the stop, with the door open at 90 degrees. For openings deeper than 24 inches, a minimum clear opening of 36 inches is required.
Exception: Doors operated solely by security personnel are exempt from compliance.
Double-Leaf Doors: For double doors, at least one active leaf must meet the clear width requirements to ensure accessibility and functionality.
